How do I set this audio as an iPhone ringtone without a computer?
1. Export your audio (MP3 works best) and save it to Files. 2. Tap “Open GarageBand” to launch GarageBand on your iPhone. 3. Create an Audio Recorder track, switch to Project View (multitrack icon), open Loop Browser, switch to Files, drag your audio onto the track, return to My Songs, long-press your project, and tap “Share > Ringtone”.
Why is the ringtone length limited to 30 seconds?
iOS strictly limits custom alert and phone ringtones to a maximum of 30 seconds when exported via GarageBand. Keeping it under 30 seconds ensures iOS will accept it without unexpected trimming.
Should I choose MP3 or M4R?
If you are on an iPhone using GarageBand, choose MP3 for easy loop import. If you are syncing ringtones via a Mac (Finder) or Windows PC (iTunes), choose M4R, which is the native Apple ringtone format.
